The main difference between OSB board (oriented structural board) and LSB board (faceable oriented strand board) is the size of the flakes, the structure and flatness of the board. The following is the relevant introduction:
Chip size. The surface flakes of the OSB board are larger, which may cause the surface to be pitted; the surface flakes of the LSB board are smaller, and the upper and lower surfaces are paved with fine materials, which makes the LSB board smoother.
Sheet construction. OSB board adopts a three-layer structure, the inner core layer is composed of shavings, and the upper and lower surface layers are in the form of fine fiber materials; LSB board is an upgraded version of OSB board, using a five-layer structure, with three layers of shavings in the inner core being paved in a criss-cross direction.
scenes to be used. OSB boards are mainly used for house structures, wall decorations, logistics packaging, etc.; LSB boards are mainly used for furniture production, decorative decals, color treatment, etc. due to their better flatness and more suitable for decorative processing.
Time of advent. OSB boards came out in the 1970s; LSB boards only started to be used in recent years, especially after 2017.
